"We Dance In Silence"

long long ago,

Humans want to build a tower that can "reach the sky";

When God knew about it, he was very angry with the arrogance of human beings.

and confuses the language of men,

so that they can no longer understand each other's meaning,

and spread them all over the world.

Spoken language, sign language, lip reading or simple hand gestures...,

Different ethnic groups have become familiar with each other's languages,

Is there a way for us to truly understand each other?

Let us use the unique perception of the hearing impaired to transcend language and culture,

Dancing together in silence, freeing the imagination of "people".

【Why dance in silence】

With the advancement of technology, text communication through mobile phones has made the life of the hearing-impaired more convenient than before, but the distance between people will not be eliminated. The integration of ethnic groups is still based on a heart that recognizes diversity and mutual tolerance. Adhering to the spirit of "Cultural Participation", this project expands the audience of art and literature scenes to hearing-impaired groups who have been less cared for in the past, and have the opportunity to become the constructors and participants of art activities. In this co-creation performance, director Wang Heng and hearing-impaired artist Lin Jinglan joined hands with nine hearing-impaired/deaf performers to overcome physical differences. After two years, they explored the unique perception and expression of hearing-impaired/deaf people. A common spectrum of how young hearing-impaired people see themselves in society and how they want to be seen. The unique perceptual abilities of hearing-impaired performers have created a unique and colorful appearance in the world of performing arts.
